The Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy offers state-licensed career diplomas in hypnotherapy, clinical hypnotherapy and transpersonal hypnotherapy, yet many people do not realize that our training even goes beyond that. Beyond our 500 hours of comprehensive hypnotherapy training, we have refined an already powerful model of transformation into what we call Interpersonal Hypnotherapy. Read more hereโฆ
What is Hypnotherapy?
Aside from mere hypnotic programming, hypnotherapy and hypnotherapy training allow us to get to the root cause of a personโs problems through what is known as an ISE. An ISE is an Initial Sensitizing Event, which is said to be the true cause of a present-day problem. The model is simple and yet quite powerful at the same time. Here we acknowledge that a past event, which is now a memory, causes a set of negative thoughts (false beliefs), and that these thoughts create our negative emotions, which in turn manifest as our symptoms and negative behaviors. When we resolve the ISE, we resolve the negative thinking that fuels our negative emotions, which fuel our present-day problems.

No formal training is needed to go to hypnotherapy school, yet we do highly recommend choosing a state-licensed institute with 500 hours of training. From there, IIH offers a hybrid style of learning that combines in-house hours with online eLearning hours to make for a powerful education in hypnosis. It all starts with a simple phone call to 800-551-9247.
What is Interpersonal Hypnotherapy?
The major difference in the Interpersonal Hypnotherapy model is the focus on forgiveness and relationships, for once we start looking at ISEโs, we inevitably begin looking at the relationships within these past events. What we always discover is some form of un-forgiveness in a relationship that has yet to be resolved. By always targeting this unhealed relationship, we stop working to resolve memories, beliefs, emotions and symptoms on their own. In this model of hypnosis certification, regardless of what modality we use, we focus on healing a relationship. Therefore, all pain, negative behaviors, difficult emotions or even major life challenges are simply seen as what we now call an ISR โ an Initial Sensitizing Relationship.

Students must first complete all of our schoolโs hypnotherapy education before they are qualified to understand the Interpersonal Hypnotherapy model. Once they are ready, we have created a 22-Hour Continuing Education Unit (CEU) online course to help practitioners to refine their skills and to learn of the more advanced methods of IH.
