A Course in Miracles and Hypnotherapy
Every so often in the history of spiritual and/or religious literature a text comes about which changes the world forever. Every major world religion has its inspired scriptures that guide practitioners back to love, truth, peace, joy and goodness. However, many religions have turned people off and finding a reliable source of truth can be difficult to say the least.
In Hypnotherapy and Hypnotherapy training it is also very important to have a source of knowledge and wisdom that we can trust – Enter A Course in Miracles.
The Course is a metaphysical self-help study guide and workbook that supplements Hypnotherapy Training and any spiritual path in very beautiful and profound ways.
What is A Course in Miracles?
In the 1970’s a woman named Dr. Helen Schucman began scribing what an inner voice told her to write down. She is not the author of the book and that is why there are no names on the cover. The inner wisdom that came through her took about seven years to deliver the material that we now have today.
The Course has a core text, a workbook with 365 lessons and a manual for teachers, as well as supplements about prayer and about therapy. Students can study on their own or in groups and it is clearly stated that no religion is meant to come out of these teachings, only that those who follow this path will find their Inner Teacher and will be taught all that they need to learn.
What does the Course Teach?
A Course in Miracles is a path to return to love. It teaches about the difference between Spirit and ego, Love and fear, and Truth and illusion. It teaches about the miracle, which is a mental shift, rooted in forgiveness, that guides us back to Spirit, Truth and Love. It teaches that there is a reality called God and that we are all creations of that one reality. It honors that we are still perfect as we are created in our essence and that through the return to that Truth we can truly know ourselves as whole and healed.

Yes, absolutely. The Course blends perfectly with a spiritually-based Hypnotherapy practice, and it has infused our Hypnotherapy School with countless gems of knowledge and wisdom. Learning what a miracle truly is becomes an invaluable way of working with clients, where mental shifts potentially yield profound and often rapid results.
The philosophy of the Course gives us guidance about what to say to clients, the Workbook helps us to heal our own minds so as to be “Healed Healers,” and with the movement into our connection with our Inner Teacher, we find all of the inspiration we need to help the clients that are directed to us.
