Hypnotherapy & Being with Grief, Loss and Death

Many of us are led to the caregiving professions because we know what it is like to see suffering and to want to heal it.  We are all deeply moved when we hear about the loss of a loved one or about someone who no longer has something or someone that they treasure in their life.

Because hypnotherapy acknowledges our emotions, it has a profound way to transform the way we see the events that unfold in our lives.  Grief can indeed be transformed into peace, loss can be seen with more beauty, and even death can be viewed as a glorious transition into higher levels of being.  The change all begins with a change within each of us as hypnotherapists, teachers and healers.

How can Hypnotherapy Training empower us to heal grief and loss?

When we learn hypnosis, we learn how to access the subconscious mind.  We learn that we are all already programmed to react to events, rather than to respond consciously and with mindfulness and compassion.  Hypnotherapy does not teach us to deny our emotions, yet is allows us to feel them and to transform them.  We have an enormous capacity to feel love, peace, compassion and even joy, yet without changing our deep inner minds, then we merely remain in places of suffering that are not necessary.  When empowered with transformational healing modalities, as related to hypnosis, we discover new ways of seeing life, death and the process of transforming our grief into something so much richer and more fulfilling.

Offering Hope to Those in Need

A well-trained Clinical Hypnotherapist is empowered with skills to work with grief and loss.  We learn that it is okay to feel our feelings and allow others to do the same.  We also learn that when emotions are flowing that the subconscious is wide open.  When these emotions are on the surface, then proper techniques can free us from our pain.  Regardless of the loss, or the degree to which we suffer, hypnotherapy has proven time and again to bring about real and lasting change.

If you are looking to learn hypnosis, then you do want to consider doing it right.  There are books on Amazon, weekend workshops and online courses.  Yet what are the highest standards in our profession, and do you actually have legitimate diplomas in our field?

For some people it does not matter how they learn hypnosis.  They are happy to call themselves a hypnotist and try, to the best of their limited abilities, to help others.

However, there is so much to learn about hypnosis and very high standards have been set to create professionals who make our occupation respectable and worthy of taking note.

Number of Hours of Training

Let’s face it, in this day and age, you can go on the internet and learn anything.  You can watch a few YouTube videos on how to hypnotize someone and then call it a day.  Perhaps you might even spend some money on a basic course to learn hypnosis and have a simple email sent saying that you are now a certified hypnotherapist.  Fortunately, after the decades-long dedication and work of leaders in our field, a path has been forged making hypnotherapy a legitimate profession.

It is from those elevated standards that we therefore recommend that you obtain at least 300 hours of training from a State-Licensed Hypnotherapy School and ideally that you strive for 500 hours or more of training offering legitimate diplomas backed by the Department of Education.
